Schools and Universities

We actively encourage partnerships with schools and universities by:

  • providing an opportunity to educate students about the challenges of running a Social Enterprise
  • helping students learn about the impact they could on helping vulnerable people in our society
  • offering a wonderful, stimulating environment, outside of the normal school classroom, where schools can deliver their own curriculum

A few examples of collaboration in our community include:

  • Bulwell Academy use our straw bale building to deliver specially designed lessons in a unique classroom environment, with immediate access to the 1.5 acre garden site
  • Nottingham Trent University, City and Brackenhurst Campus, work closely with Flower Pod on a range of initiatives:
    • student and staff volunteering
    • horticulture and commercial projects linked to undergraduate courses
    • visionary initiative, such as building an amphitheatre at Flower Pod
    • participation in fairs and site tours
  • Southwell Minster School students collaboration
    • volunteer at Flower Pod as part of their Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh
    • provide support with fund raising activities
    • gain experience in running a Social Enterprise

If your School is interested in meeting us for exploratory discussions on how to work together, please contact us.
