Our People

Jane Hufton
Flower Pod Centre Manager

Hello, I’m Jane…
There aren’t many mornings I wake up and think, ‘Oh no, I’ve got to go to work again’!
I am surrounded by great people, in a glorious setting, doing something I love.
Flower Pod embodies teamwork, commitment and a whole lot of fun.
Nurturing people is my passion – to be doing it in a garden? Dreamy!

It’s the people that make Flower Pod what it is – a positive, vibrant and welcoming space. Without the dedication and passion of local people, Flower Pod would not be the success it is.

Our team is made up of staff with expertise in horticulture, floristry, adult education and learning disability support, plus many wonderful volunteers.

Tina Aram
Customer Services Co-ordinator

I have been passionate about flowers and plants from an early age, I owned my first flower arranging book when I was nine and went on to study floristry as a career. I have worked in all aspects of the industry, as a retail florist and twenty years as a lecturer.

One of my proudest moments was in 2016 to be awarded a Silver Gilt Medal at the RHS Chelsea flower show for a floristry design I created

I love working with seasonal flowers, promoting the ethos of Flower Pod, my favourites include roses, scabious and tulips. A small team of ‘flowery’ volunteers help me to create floral designs for all occasions, from the simplest tied bunch to decorating large venues.

Horticultural Lead

I’m Sam, and I started working at Flower Pod at the beginning of 2019. I’m very lucky to work in such a picturesque place, but gardening isn’t just about making things look pretty. More important is the way it can help people from all walks of life. I love the way that Flower Pod offers so many different things to get involved in, so all our clients can find their own space and their own way of working – feeling safe, engaged and above all, proud.

It’s the people that make Flower Pod what it is – a positive, calm and welcoming space. Without the dedication and passion of local people, Flower Pod would not be the success it is.
